Cindy + Andrea | wedding in Pieve di Soligo

I’m excited that Destination I Do has selected Cindy and Andrea’s wedding as one of “Top 12 Real Weddings for 2012“. Yeah!!

Centerpieces: the flowers were arranged by Floricoltura Rizzo. Cindy wanted to incorporate a part of her Japanese heritage into the reception, so they hung paper cranes from the centerpiece branches and she handmade the Table number signs, each of which had a vintage map of a city or country around the world that has meaning to Andrea and Cindy. The cities were pinned on a large world map that we made also showing their hometowns. The seating cards were also hand embossed by the bride and the groom truly!

From the Bride:

Andrea and I met in Padova, Italy. Since Italy holds such a special place in our hearts, we wanted to bring our families and friends together in his hometown of Pieve di Soligo and have the reception at Villa Ca’ Marcello in Levada di Piombino Dese, which holds significance to me as it is the home of a dear friend. The villa with its gorgeous gardens and lake was the perfect backdrop for an outdoor mingling aperativo and antipasti. Inside, we had dinner amidst beautiful 16th century frescoes. The most precious aspect of the day was having all of our loved ones around us – from California, New York, Japan, Germany and Italy. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. It was important to Andrea and I to incorporate my Japanese American heritage and culture. My family folded the 1,001 paper cranes that traditionally symbolize prosperity and my friend Hana helped to fold origami paper boxes for the favors-confetti. I love anything handmade and since it’s the details of a wedding that really reflect your style and personalities, we tried to make as much as possible ourselves.From the invitations (which were cutouts of suitcases labled “Italy”) to the table cards and welcome sign. Our favorite gift is a fingerprint tree – we had all of our guests leave their fingerprints on a printed tree and sign their names. It is a symbol of love and a unique memory we will keep with us always. The icing on the cake was having our friends play music for us throughout the day. Laura Lorenzon belted beautiful tunes all day and Andrea’s band Taniwha played their unplugged version of Stand By Me. It was an unforgettable day!
